About
Terbol Station is one of LARI stations around Lebanon, it is situated in mid bekaa. It is specialized in breeding and selection of Awasi sheep and Shami goats.
In addition to conducting research on feeding and management of small ruminants, including the use of agro - industrial by - products in ruminants diet.Evaluation of ruminants feeds and their nutritive is one of the tasks.
Terbol station as part of LARI is committed to its bi lateral agreements with other organizations.The station receives students and researchers for training and research conducting in the field of small ruminants from universities and research institutes in Lebanon, in addition to agriculture technical schools.
Awasi sheep flock around 200 sheep(adults and offspring).
Shami goat flock around: 100 goats(adults and offspring).
Baladi Goat flock around: 70 goats(adults and offspring) since 2016 in cooperation with St.Josef University.
Activities
Yearly sale of improved Awasi rams and Shami bucks to interested farmers around the country.
Advising local sheep and goat herders on: nutrition, management and vaccination of their herds.
